Shuchi Pandya started her entrepreneurial journey back in 2014, when she launched her fashion jewellery label Pipa Bella. With the aim to empower women and their varied sensibilities, her brand celebrates women who are comfortable in their own skin, what they wear, and most importantly what they believe in. The designer has now collaborated with Nykaa Fashion to launch an exclusive collection encompassing gorgeous kundan bracelets, delicate enamel rings, pearl pieces and ornate temple earrings to name just a few.. “We have created a collection just in time for Diwali which celebrates India’s rich jewellery heritage and aims to bring that royal opulence even in our small celebrations this year”, says Pandya explaining the vision behind the collection. Below, we get her to spill all the beans.
What does ‘fashion’ mean to you?
Fashion to me is about having a unique signature style that may evolve over time, but always remains true to your essence.
How would you describe your design aesthetic?
If I had to describe my design aesthetic, it would be bohemian, free flowing and arts.
What’s your personal style?
I love an easy, every day, no fuss style.
What inspires you to create (ideas/hobbies etc.)?
I draw a lot of inspiration from different cultural elements such as various periods in history, significant ethnic symbols, and a lot of my own personal travels. E.g. our Byzantine collection was inspired by a recent trip to Athens, Greece.
Can you tell us a bit about your latest collection?
Our latest collection was inspired by India’s royal culture. This year has been particularly challenging for most; and we are well aware how jewellery can uplift our mood and the way it makes us feel when we wear it. Keeping that in mind, we have created a collection just in time for Diwali that celebrates India’s rich jewellery heritage and aims to bring that opulent royal mood even in our small celebrations this year. We have even made the collection affordable so that it can cater to a range of budgets for our customers.
Which are your personal favourites from the new collection?
If I have to choose, I particularly love the Enamel Mastani Earrings and the Cleophis Matte Gold Earrings.

My favourite color palette to work with would be Magenta pink, Lilac, Pista green and Turquoise Blue.
What according to you is the most exciting trend this festive season? What are the five must-have accessories that one should invest on?
I am in love with the layered necklace look this season. It is so versatile and can be worn on both Indian and western if done well. My five go-to investments in accessories are: a) A cocktail ring; b) A pair of studs; c) A pair of hoops; d) A layered necklace; e) A gold cuff
What are the two key rules of nailing the fusion look?
If you’re wearing your hair up, go with a pair of statement earrings; if you’re wearing it down, consider a statement necklace.
What would we find in your jewellery box?
I love stacking, so you’ll find a lot of thin chains, bangles, statement earrings, a cocktail ring, and my favorite Pipa Bella x Nykaa Fashion Multi-tone Enael Green Lily Earrings
Can you share three essential tips on how to accessorize right?
a) Match your jewellery to your face shape; some jewellery, particularly earrings can accentuate your jawline beautifully; b) Wear statement jewellery to dress up a plain outfit; c) I always start with earrings and work my way down – removing items that don’t help in balancing the look.
Any international accessory brands/designers that you follow religiously?
I love Dannijo, Annoushka Ducas, Marco Bicego, Lucia Silvestri
What are the three upcoming trends to watch out for in the accessory space?
a) The chains trend is going to continue well into 2021; b) Collar necklaces; c) Pearls
