Urvashi Kaur, with her ‘Glocal’ susceptibilities embraces natural dyes, relaxed silhouettes and organic handwoven textiles generating an alternate fashion movement. A reinvented liaison of similar sensibilities was reflected in her ‘Akara’ collection at Lakmé Fashion Week Winter/Festive’s second-to-last day.

Her latest collection was a genius mix of technology with organic textiles- handwoven khadi, Kota Doriya, crinkle cotton, sheer noil, silk linen and matka silk. Details such as micro-pleating, handblocked prints and Shibori patterns lent her collection a refined accent. Laidback tailored separates, jumpsuits, shirt dresses and capes naturally dyed in an interspersion of greys, olives, blacks, pale salmons and fuchsias reigned the runway and how!

Grabbing the eyeballs were the hip headphones, organic-yet-groovy bag packs and the unmissable white sneakers. To complement the look the models were given a bun hairdo with an illusory fringe, keeping the face bare. In collaboration with boAt, the soundtrack was obviously uncompromised upon- let’s just say, if her collection were a music album, that would be it!
