Her trademark aesthetic being edgy ethnic and fusion wear with intricate works and embroideries, Arpita Mehta’s pieces are extremely wearable. Extending her boho vibe to her ‘La Fleur’ collection, Arpita Mehta in collaboration with Caprese put up an utterly delightful show at Lakmé Fashion Week Winter/Festive 2018. In addition to her quintessential floral prints, she introduced a motley of
stripes to her latest collection.
Borrowing a leaf from a jetsetter’s diary, her collection was a kaleidoscopic experience with hues drifting from pastels to deep reds to jet blacks- quite a fit for the approaching season. Injected with mirror work, elaborate embroidery and laser cut work- her offerings encompassed teeny bralets paired with flared pants, flowy capes and jackets, ruffled sarees, frilly blouses and sequinned lehengas.
Lending a glamorous ending to a glam-packed show, Karisma Kapoor sashayed down the ramp in a heavily embellished black saree paired with a floor-sweeping cape. While Karisma’s hair and makeup were done to perfection with smokey eyes, nude lips and loose flowy hair, the other models’ faces were kept bare with only a swab of colour on the lashes and waterlines. In conclusion, her latest idiosyncratic pieces could easily pass for a millennial bride’s dream trousseau.
