The ethos of Nikhil Thampi’s designs is neat and figure flattering forms. His label is defined by monochrome and neutral hues with a tinge of gold combined with impeccable tailoring. For his ‘Semi Colon’ collection, he put together cleverly constructed pieces and sharply tailored silhouettes. With combinations of the popular pause- dot and comma- interspersed with body-con silhouettes suddenly taking off-body shapes, angles, curved panels, shine, matte, solid, monochrome and colour blocking, the collection came together seamlessly.

Keeping power dressing at its core, the collection saw heavily padded shoulders and square ‘Y’ silhouettes into sharp focus. Keeping his construction clean with great finish, there were high waist pants, slim skirts, wide trousers with extended pockets, moulded rigid blouses, halter maxis, sheaths, angular long tops in browns, blacks, whites and greys. Hair and makeup followed suit with gold strokes on eyelids, a burnt brown pout and slick back hair. To conclude, Nikhil Thampi’s Summer-Resort collection saw power dressing at its pinnacle.
