Best Dressed List: Celebrities In Festive Wear

by Drishti Mistry

When the festive season is just around the corner, we all need a mood board to prep us up for the many auspicious occasions that take place during the season. To spare you the hassle, we took the liberty to create a little something that will surely serve as your inspiration. Here’s a list of the best celebrity festive looks featuring our favourite designers – bookmark them ladies!

Payal Singhal

Yami Gautam acts as a fine example of Payal Singhal’s signature aesthetic- modern day bridal. We love how she gave the heavily embroidered cream camisole an illusory empire line with the rope belt and paired it with flared pants to create a contemporary festive look. While Diana Penty chose to pair her printed drop crotch dhoti pants with a daintily embellished kurti, Sonakshi Sinha paired
hers with a matching crop top and an asymmetric jacket. Lastly, Parineeti Chopra takes the prize for wearing her printed dhoti pants and crop top as a concept saree – all of these being the hottest trends of the festive season this year!

ASAL By Abu Jani Sandeep Khosla

It’s hard to miss Sonam Kapoor Ahuja- the most sartorial diva of the millennial age- out of the best dressed list, especially when the designer duo’s and the diva’s names have been part of the same sentence several times. Of all her looks, we love this art deco electric blue lehenga the most- it perfectly captures the festive mood. Swara Bhaskar might be the latest addition to this list but certainly a promising one- take this gorgeous kitschy lehenga for example. Sonakshi Sinha has been acing her style game all through the years but this soft yellow embroidered attire has our heart. Lastly we’re crushing on Bhumi Pednekar’s vibrant anarkali paired with statement earrings look.

Masaba

A master of prints Masaba’s designs have been a hit with the celebrities from the word go! From Kareena Kapoor Khan’s cobalt blue gold foil printed outfit to Shilpa Shetty’s mustard lotus printed saree, we are head over heals for her mastery over everything quirk and prints. Speaking of lotus prints, we love how Shamita Shetty pulled off her mint and pink anarkali with oversized traditional
earrings. The most recent #ootd that caught our attention was the hot pink saree adorned by Katrina Kaif for pujo celebrations- simple yet statement!

Anita Dongre

If there is one thing that festive and celebrity is synonymous with, it’s Anita Dongre’s timeless collections that are deep rooted in traditions. We’re rooting for Yami Gautam in the powder blue long kurta with brocade palazzo pants and Alia Bhatt in her gorgeous floral embroidered jacket and tunic- quite lowkey yet festive. Then there is Huma Quereshi on the other side of the spectrum sporting the most over the top, heavily embellished grey lehenga complete with raditional mogra garlands in her hair- we’re only loving it! Esha Gupta follows suit with her bride-worthy navy lehenga- oh-so-festive no?

Arpita Mehta

Arpita Mehta’s ruffled sarees have been all the rage at her Winter-Festive season as have been her floral prints. Trust Shilpa Shetty- the queen of draping- to lead you into embracing the reimagined six-yard drape this festive season. Need to second that thought? We love Sonakshi Sinha’s micro-ruffled saree by the ace designer. While Shraddha Kapoor schools us on how to wear florals and pastels elegantly this season, we love Madhuri Dixit Nene’s timeless saree that is embellished to perfection with a stunning embroidered blouse.
