Latha’s label portrays the true spirit of India by incorporating weaves from all across India in their creations and translating them into evergreen designs and styles. All of their creations are completely handwoven and handcrafted. Translating similar sensibilities to her ‘Wonder Years’ collection, she showcased a range of ready-to-wear ensembles with South Indian accents, all inspired by black and white photographs.
The ensembles revolved around contradictions, from sweet to bitter and happy to sad memories, of an idyllic past. With the right touches of nostalgia, her plethora of ensembles like sheer tops, palazzos, pocketed blouses, pleated skirts and metallic sarees spoke of sophistication and excellence. Making use of earthy fabrics in mellow tones, her pieces featured checks, geometric motifs, intricate borders and embellishments resulting in a delightfully contemporary collection rooted in South Indian tradition.
