Lotus Make-up India Fashion Week wrapped up with a grand finale ‘Rainbow’ that will stay in our hearts for seasons to come. For the first time, forty designers from across the country were a part of the closing show that celebrated the abolition of IPC section 377.
Each designer created one outfit that represented the theme of love and inclusivity. Designers such as Manish Malhotra, Amit Agarwal, Gaurav Gupta, Rimzim Dadu, Dhruv Kapoor, Rina Dhaka, Suneet Verma, Shivan & Narresh, Huemn, Samant Chauhan, Wendell Rodricks, Varun Bahl, Rajesh Pratap Singh, Rahul Mishra and Ashish N Soni to name a few (yes few!) came together and truly made it a ‘grand’ affair.
While all creations looked extremely happy-shiny, some emerged out to be a distant piece of art. Gaurav Gupta’s opening piece was a structured dress lit with LED lights in rainbow colours, Rajesh Pratap Singh’s outfit bled colours with each step and Samant Chauhan created a saree out of an unimaginably large amount of intricate colourful ruffles! The show not only represented LOVE in all its glory but also reminded us how talented and creative our fashion fraternity really is.
To top it all off, Huma Qureshi closed the show in a dramatic white Manish Malhotra outfit and started the party on the runway by calling all the designers and models for one final walk – which was all kinds of happy!
