In an ideal world, nothing should be a dampener on your wedding day. Your makeup would be done on time, and your hair is in place. And your lehenga? The talk of the town! Unfortunately, it is 2020, and we don’t doubt that it is going to be a cold winter. Just like your everyday outfits, your bridal fit is going to need a few layers to keep you warm. So, because we are absolute suckers for a winter wedding, here are a few tips to help you layer your wedding outfit.
1. Bring on The Jacket
You could smile through freezing temperatures during the pheras, or you could find a well-fitted statement jacket with ahir hand embroidery like this one by Arpita Mehta to keep warm.

2. Full Sleeves All the Way
Nothing says regal like a full-sleeved blouse on a lehenga. Make sure to opt for one that has gold embroidery that shines as bright as the jewelry you are wearing.

3. Double (Dupatta) It Up
Aside from adding a delicate touch to ethnic outfits, dupattas are great for adding layers to your lehenga and keeping you warm. You can opt for a heavier one to adorn your crown, and a lightweight tulle one to add to your shoulders.

4. You ‘Shawl’ Stay Warm
Don’t dismiss shawls just yet. Obviously, you cannot just opt for one on your wedding day, UNLESS it is made with velvet as soft as fur. You can either pick one that matches your outfit or go for a maroon one with intricate zari work.

5. Put A Cape On
Aside from being super trendy, capes are great for keeping warm. Unlike shawls and dupattas, they allow for free movement of the arms, and bring a demure feel to the outfit. You can either get a heavy one tailored by your tailor or go for a mesh one that lets your lehenga shine through.
